What’s been achieved?
- Acquisition of C16 class steam locomotive 106 the last steam locomotive to be built at the Toowoomba Foundry.
- Recruitment and training of enthusiastic volunteer workforce.
- Acquisition from Q.R. of Drayton site with access to main Toowoomba Warwick Line.
- Installation of vital infrastructure: power, sewerage, water etc
- Establishment of Award winning gardens
- Acquisition of seven Budd stainless Steel railway coaches.
- Construction of railway platform.
- Installation of former QR railway station from Yuleba.
- Establishment of “Memory coach” with archival documents, exhibits, photographs and books.
- Acquisition of railway turntable. (To be installed)
- Establishment of theatrette for education and entertainment.
- Acquisition and establishment of ‘The Drayton Diner’ in a converted Melbourne tram.
- Conversion of standard railway carriage to restaurant car to showcase The Downs Finest.
- On site display of fully operational Robey three horse power portable steam engine.
- Establishment of productive partnerships with local government and businesses USQ, tourist bodies and numerous other important entities…
