What’s been achieved?
  • Acquisition of C16 class steam locomotive 106 the last steam locomotive to be built at the Toowoomba Foundry.
  • Recruitment and training of enthusiastic volunteer workforce.
  • Acquisition from Q.R. of Drayton site with access to main Toowoomba Warwick Line.
  • Installation of vital infrastructure: power, sewerage, water etc
  • Establishment of Award winning gardens
  • Acquisition of seven Budd stainless Steel railway coaches.
  • Construction of railway platform.
  • Installation of former QR railway station from Yuleba.
  • Establishment of “Memory coach” with archival documents, exhibits, photographs and books.   
  • Acquisition of railway turntable. (To be installed)
  • Establishment of theatrette for education and entertainment.
  • Acquisition and establishment of ‘The Drayton Diner’ in a converted Melbourne tram.
  • Conversion of standard railway carriage to restaurant car to showcase The Downs Finest.
  • On site display of fully operational Robey three horse power portable steam engine.
  • Establishment of productive partnerships with local government and  businesses USQ, tourist bodies and numerous other important entities…
